Happy Friday! I thought I’d share a collection of links to articles I’ve been reading this past week. I’ve either retweeted these on @StrongBride, StumpledUpon them, or read them on my favorite blogs. I hope you enjoy them too!
This article by Dr. Mike Rousell in Shape Magazine emphasizes dieting in moderation. It’s a good reminder to diet smartly by eating clean and making small caloric adjustments instead of creating extreme deficits.
A good article from Boston pilates instructor Lisa Johnson reminding us to keep an eye out for fitness scams. #4 is my favorite because it made me laugh, but always keep #1 in mind with anything fitness related. Always remember that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. This goes for the $200 Amsale wedding dress and the lose 10 pounds in 1 week diet.
Finally, a real detox. SELF Magazine reiterates one of my key beliefs: the body detoxes itself. Their more moderate “detox” represents the way we should all strive to eat everyday: lots of greens, antioxidants, and high fiber foods. Your body will handle the rest without having to do something unnatural (and dangerous) like a colon cleanse.
